🦋 IC Information

Character Name: Cassian Andor
Age: 33
Canon: Star Wars
Canon Point: Post- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Character History: Cassian at the Star Wars wiki. As a note: this wiki entry has backstory information from both what was originally mentioned in Rogue One supplementary material and what was depicted in the first season of Andor, and there is some contradiction between the two backstories. Since Star Wars canon tiers tend to prioritize what is depicted onscreen in a film or television show as canon, I will follow the Andor television series canon.
Canon Abilities: Cassian is a normal human, with no powers or superhuman abilities. He is, however, in the possession of many skills that not only aided in his survival over the course of his life, but have also provided the foundation for his role as a spy and assassin in the ranks of the Rebel Alliance. A very capable marksman, Cassian is quick on the draw and precise in his aim; people who end up on the other side of his blaster rarely live to tell the tale. He studies any situation he walks into, and is skilled at reading both them in general, as well as others' behavior in them, specifically; this is how he's able to blend in and appear as though he belongs. Because he has some skill with reading people, he can both assess their skills and navigate networks and communities, helping to bring people together to work toward a common purpose.
Inventory: Aside from his clothes, Cassian will only be carrying a standard comlink and blaster.

🦋 Personality

Option 2: You may instead choose words from the following list to expand upon as your personality section. Elaborate on what this word means to your character, specifically their thoughts about it. For Canon Characters, you can choose five words. For Original Characters, you will need to choose seven words. Keep the word count to 100-300 per choice.
  • Green
Many planets in the galaxy far, far away, including most of the ones that Cassian has visited and lived on, are sparse on local flora, but he was born somewhere green: Kenari. A small planet in the galaxy's Mid Rim, Kenari was once a lush world, filled to the brim with natural resources — until they were stripped through excessive mining by the Republic, well before the days of the Empire, leading to environmental collapse. In the small pockets of green that remained on the planet, after the deaths of their parents, Cassian, known then as Kassa, and his younger sister lived with a group of other orphaned children, and did their best to survive; this was largely his life until the age of nine, when, after an encounter with a Republic cruiser coming to investigate the planet resulted in the death of one of the other children, Cassian was taken off-planet by scavengers Clem and Maarva Andor for his own safety, and he never saw the planet, or anyone on it, ever again. Adopted by the Andors and given a new name, he lived on Ferrix, a cold planet with mostly rocky terrain, and as far as anyone ever knew, Kenari had been abandoned due to a mining disaster that had killed everyone remaining on the planet. Green, then, continues to represent the homeworld that Cassian hasn't seen since he was nine and is presumed ostensibly destroyed, and the life, the identity, that was no longer his from the day he left.

  • Dead
Originating from what is widely known as a dead world, most of Cassian's life has been shadowed by the dead. His parents died in his early childhood, leaving him to care alone for his younger sister, and just before being taken from his home, he witnessed the death of another orphan in his community; when he was thirteen, his adoptive father, Clem, was executed by the Empire. All of these incidents were fundamental in shaping his early life, in shaping Cassian's understanding of the galaxy as a place of death. It's logical, then, that in a place such as this, he acquired skill with firearms as a means of survival, becoming quick on the draw and learning to shoot without hesitation. This also becomes his primary means to fight back, an asset to the Rebellion against the Empire. His time in the Rebellion has including serving as an assassin on many occasions, continuing to add to a body count that intensifies guilt and self-loathing, that makes it difficult for him to sleep at night. That makes him wonder if that's what he, too, deserves: to die. He's long thought that he would sooner rather than later, and a cause like trying to take down the Empire is one worth doing it for — which now he has, after getting the plans to the Death Star off of the Imperial stronghold of Scarif. Is he absolved, now that he's dead? Is he relieved? These aren't questions that Cassian knows the answer to for sure, but he has the feeling that in both cases, it's no.

  • Long
The struggle against the Empire has been a long fight; in some ways, Cassian says, in his own words, that he's been in it since he was six years old, since simply trying to stay alive under its grip is a fight. Still, his active commitment to the fight, made after the funeral of his adoptive mother, Maarva, has, in and of itself, been a long one. At this point in his life, Cassian has spent years devoting himself wholesale to the cause of the Rebellion, going on missions and doing whatever it takes. If that has meant long journeys of hyperspace travel, long stretches on his own, away from any kind of support or backup, long stretches of silence in wait for the right moment to take a shot, he has done that. The end goal of the effort, too — to see an end to Imperial oppression that has taken over the galaxy — is a long game, and something that isn't immediately visible or even seemingly achievable. By the time of Rogue One, it's clear that the years in the fight have had a wear on Cassian, that he's tired, burned out, and only just barely a husk of a person in the aftermath of all the pieces of himself he has given to this, but it's worth it; it has to be. It's a long effort that he's seen through to his own end, because he can't fathom any other way.

  • Fall
Between Andor and Rogue One, there's a motif that emerges in Cassian's story: one of climbing; it's something that he has to do, literally, in many different instances, but it metaphorically represents where, and how far, he's willing to keep going, even when tragedy happens or he strays from the path. Even when he falls. His first canonical appearance, chronologically speaking, represents a sort of fall from a path; already having experienced so much trauma in his life, he's angry but he's directionless, he's resigned, and initially brushes off Luthen Rael's attempts to recruit him into the Rebellion. But from that, he climbs: into the air over Aldhani, out of the prison on Narkina 5, through tunnels and over walls on Ferrix to evade the Empire and come to the struggle against it in earnest. Thus, what a fall represents to Cassian is something to move past, an obstacle to be overcome so that it doesn't detract from the end goal. Even when he falls, literally, inside the data vault on Scarif to cover Jyn Erso's escape with the Death Star plans, he doesn't allow that to keep him down; through what is clearly serious injury, he wills himself to climb to the top of the tower and continue to provide cover so that the plans can be successfully transmitted. No matter what, even from the worst falls, he will keep getting up and keep climbing, as long as he's able.

  • Child
The child that would come to Cassian's mind is Kerri, his younger sister he'd left behind on Kenari. After the deaths of their parents when they were young, Cassian assumed total responsibility for her safety and wellbeing — a responsibility that he perceived as failing on the day he was taken from the planet by the Andors. This affected him fundamentally in a number of ways. For one, it led Cassian on many desperate searches for any leads that his sister might still be alive over the years — which is what eventually led him to the planet of Morlana One, where the chain of events that would result in him joining the Rebellion first kicked off. Most predominantly, though, it became an event to set the precedent for a deep self-loathing that would remain with him for the rest of his life. Additionally, the fact that he left his sister behind has made Cassian afraid that he's just going to leave everyone else who comes into his life behind, too — something that, in part, makes it difficult for him to form deep connections with others — but on the flip side, that creates a determination in him not to do that. In a way, then, that does contribute to his intense loyalty, to his determination to come back for people even when it's dangerous for him to do so, which is seen in numerous canon instances. Kerri, who is, in his mind, perpetually a child because she's frozen in the last moment he saw her, continued to be a driving force in his life long after they parted.

🦋 Fae Court

  • Winter

  • Autumn

  • Dusk

Ability: Do you want your character to gain the ability of their court?
3) Yes, but they either have no ability of their own, or they refuse to trade theirs away; they will buy their court's ability on credit.

🦋 RP Samples

1) TDM top-level
2) Since Cassian is mostly playing an angle on that TDM and not really being himself, I will also provide an additional meme thread where he is
