IN CHARACTER
CHARACTER NAME: Cassian Andor
CHARACTER AGE: 32
CHARACTER CANON: Star Wars
CANON POINT: Post-Rogue One + CRAU from 18 months in Duplicity; wiki here
ABILITIES: Cassian is a normal human, with no powers or superhuman abilities. He is, however, in the possession of many skills that have provided the foundation for his role as a spy and assassin in the ranks of the Rebel Alliance. A very capable marksman, Cassian is quick on the draw and precise in his aim; people who end up on the other side of his blaster rarely live to tell the tale. He studies any situation he walks into, and is skilled at reading both them in general, as well as others' behavior in them, specifically; this is how he's able to blend in and appear as though he belongs. Because he has some skill with reading people, he can both assess their skills and navigate networks and communities, helping to bring people together to work toward a common purpose; this was on display in his instrumental role of masterminding, and carrying out, the escape from the prison on Narkina 5, as well as in gathering the troops for the unsanctioned mission to Scarif to steal the Death Star plans.

SURVEY
WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER'S SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND? WHAT IS THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO WEALTH?:
Cassian has never lived a life of wealth. At an indeterminate point in his early childhood on the planet Kenari, both of his parents died, leaving his younger sister in his care; they lived with a group of (presumably) orphaned children, and did not have much. This didn't change when he was found by Clem and Maarva Andor and taken in as their child. Life on their homeworld of Ferrix, like for most, involved working hard, scraping, for what credits one could, and living simply. The death of Clem at the hands of the Empire, as well as Cassian's resulting juvenile prison sentence after attacking stormtroopers when this happened, resulted in credits becoming more scarce. Cassian would eventually turn to stealing Imperial tech and other items he could sell on the black market, and was well-known on Ferrix as someone who often borrowed money and never paid it back. Lack of wealth, then, has long-defined his life, and would continue to define it well into his time the Rebellion. This stands in contrast to the all-powerful Empire that has overshadowed his life, which uses its immense wealth, among other means, to oppress and control the population. It is logical, then, that not only has Cassian simply lacked wealth, he is also wary, distrustful, and resentful of it.
WHAT WOULD/DID YOUR CHARACTER MAJOR IN?:
Having spent the majority of his formative years either in prison or wholly focused on a fight to stay alive, Cassian has not had much in the way of formal education. If he were to attend university, though, he would gravitate toward engineering as an area of study; this suits him because he has a sharp eye for detail and how systems work, and he is both canonically a good pilot and someone who is clearly comfortable around machinery and technology. There is also a strong possibility that, in a parallel to his canon arc, he would stumble on sociology or political science as disciplines that would speak to feelings he's long had about the way that the world works but could not fully articulate, and aid in his development of class and political consciousness, with enough classes taken for possibly a minor or a double major.
WHAT IS THE MOST INTERESTING THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR CHARACTER?:
For a guy whose canon essentially consists of him having the worst week of his life over and over again, leading up to the day he dies, it can be difficult to pick out a singular event as the most interesting. There is a distinct turning point in his life, though. After his first taste of rebellion, a heist on an Imperial base located on the planet Aldhani, Cassian, just wanting to back to some semblance of a life, initially intended to take his cut of the credits and run. However, while hiding out on Niamos (a planet that can essentially be thought of as space Miami), he was arrested by troopers simply for walking, and sentenced to six years in prison at an Imperial facility on Narkina 5. It was this arrest, and his time in a prison that the Empire was intent on letting no one leave, that Cassian realized that no matter what he did, the Empire would always find him; that there was no choice but to fight back. This cemented his radicalization, and shortly after orchestrating a breakout, he joined the fledgling Rebellion.
DESCRIBE YOUR CHARACTER USING ONE SONG FROM THE EARLY 2000S:
Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums by A Perfect Circle. This song captures a lot about the state of mind that Cassian is in by the time of his canon point; the strain of all the years in the fight, the cumulative toll of the actions he's taken, the lives he's taken, for the Rebellion.
NAME 1-3 VICES YOUR CHARACTER INDULGES IN:
To put it bluntly, Cassian's primary vice is being a little bitch. While he doesn't necessarily seek out a fight, he does often pick them, with very little provocation; he scoffs, he's derisive, he makes snippy comments and takes verbal shots, he throws proverbial gasoline onto already-stoking fires. It's a vice because he finds this difficult to resist, and it tends to get him into trouble; for instance, it could be argued that taking an unnecessary dig at his ex's current boyfriend at the beginning of Andor season 1 is what led said current boyfriend of his ex to turn him in to the Pre-Mor Authority for the deaths of two security officers.
Historically, his vice has also been sex, especially using it as a substitute for, and shield from, emotional intimacy. With personal development, and time in a long-standing committed relationship, however, he has started to open up a bit more easily, and does this less now than he did in the past.
WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER'S LIQUOR OF CHOICE?:
Whiskey; it's what has tended to be cheaply available in his home galaxy, and what he would continue to drink now.
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER LIKE THEIR EGGS?:
He is fine with eggs being fried or scrambled, but what's most important, no matter the method of preparation, is that there's something added, and not just the egg itself — whether it's spices, seasoning, or sauces.
IF YOUR CHARACTER HAD TO DRINK SOMEONE'S DIRTY BATHWATER, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?:
Early during his time in Duplicity, Cassian met Max Guevara, and the two made an almost-instant connection that has, over the past year and a half, blossomed and grown into a deep love. At this point, he is unequivocally devoted to her; they've been through a lot together, learned to trust and rely on one another, are committed to being with each other, and recently, he asked her to marry him. In his eyes, she's the one. There is no question that he would do absolutely anything for her — up to and including drinking her dirty bathwater.
